Foundation Funds UW Art Class in Japan

March 12, 2013

The Japan Foundation has awarded a $46,000 grant that will support University of Wyoming students to study in Japan during June.

UW faculty members Noah Miles and Rachel Sailor will lead the class.

“Students will be able to travel throughout Japan to study Japanese art as it responds to and intersects with other cultural tradition,” Sailor says.

Sailor is an art historian who teaches the Japanese art and culture course in the UW Department of Art. Her husband, Miles, teaches Japanese language classes in the UW Department of Modern and Classical languages.
