March 22, 2013

The incoming president of the University of Wyoming will visit Laramie next week.

Robert Sternberg is scheduled to visit UW Monday and Tuesday, March 25-26, to meet with university leaders, tour the campus and introduce himself to student and faculty representatives.

Sternberg, an eminent psychologist and scholar who currently serves as provost and senior vice president at Oklahoma State University, was tapped to become UW’s 24th president by the UW Board of Trustees Feb. 26. He will take office July 1.

Sternberg is scheduled to meet with UW President Tom Buchanan and other leaders, including vice presidents, deans and directors. Sternberg and his wife, Karin, also are scheduled to tour the campus Monday afternoon. He is expected to meet with student body officers and then deliver brief remarks to the UW Faculty Senate at 4:30 p.m. Monday during the senate’s regular open meeting in the Wyoming Union Family Room.

Sternberg plans to travel around Wyoming to meet with various constituents and citizens later this year.
