These are among the construction activities scheduled April 21-27 at the University of Wyoming:

The UW Facilities Planning Office reports the following activities for the week:

Enzi STEM Facility (Lewis Street between 10th and 11th streets, scheduled completion June 2015) -- The contractor has nearly completed excavating for buried foundations and is waiting for the phone company to move cables. Minor cleanup work will continue.

Marian H. Rochelle Gateway Center (22nd and Grand, scheduled completion fall 2014) -- Deconstruction is complete. Site excavation and site utility work is under way. Concrete foundation work will follow. All of this type of site work will continue through May.

Performing Arts Center (Fine Arts Building, renovation and expansion, scheduled completion December 2014) -- The parking lot on the east side of the UW Performing Arts Center is closed. It is being used for construction staging and will be converted into a green area following construction. Building visitors should use the lot on the north side of the building. Those entering the Performing Arts Center must now enter through the doors on the west side of the building. This will be the entrance for all building operations, including classes, ticket purchases and performances. The temporary classroom trailers are being installed on the far east end of Fraternity Mall. The trailer deck construction and electrical connections will be complete and move-in will begin. Most trailers will not be occupied until after the end of the semester. The east side of the Fine Arts Building is a secured construction zone with restricted access. Deconstruction equipment and activities are under way.

Energy Innovation Center (formerly ERC, at 1020 Lewis St.) -- Lewis Street remains closed during construction. The School of Energy Resources and Enhanced Oil Recovery Institute are now located in the EIC. First- and second-floor labs are being occupied. Access to main campus now includes the passage between Engineering and the new EIC, along with access between Earth Sciences and the Berry Center. Access to the EIC north entrance will be from the east along Lewis. Parking will be limited in areas around construction. Work on the third-floor lab and 3-D visualization space is beginning to wind down. Congestion and traffic on Lewis continues due to street closure and ongoing construction. Watch for UW and contractors’ trucks and equipment.

White Hall Renovations -- New installations continue on the second through seventh floors. Rough-in installations continue in the basement and first floor. Window replacement is complete on the second through 12th floors, and first-floor work is ongoing. Punch-lists are complete on the seventh through 12th floors. The new east entry metal framing is continuing. Fencing is placed around the area. The west parking lot will be closed until late summer.

ESCo Project (Energy Services Company) -- Long Energy Services Co. employees and contractors will retrofit light fixtures in the Agriculture Building first through third floors. Workers will wear identifying badges.

Biological Sciences Building Mechanical Modifications (Scheduled completion mid-August) -- The building’s mechanical system will be extensively modified over the next several months. The contractor will begin limited work this month and start the rest of the work May 15. Staging will be established around the perimeter of the building and in part of the Ivinson Parking Area. These areas will be fenced off sometime before May 15.

College of Education Annex Canopy and Connection (North of Education Building and east of Education Annex; scheduled completion August 2013) -- Construction activities have begun on the project, including the erection of fencing and temporary barricades defining the construction and staging areas. Vehicular access and parking availability in the lot north of the Education Building will be limited throughout construction and will be subject to frequent revision as construction activities dictate. During construction, pedestrian access to the north entrance of the Education Building and the east entrance of the Education Annex will be maintained. However, ongoing construction activities will require access to be limited to designated pathways. Pedestrians and motorists should exercise caution in the area.

University of Wyoming/Casper College Student Union (UW/CC Student Union, scheduled completion November 2013) -- The primary building enclosure is complete, allowing interior construction activities to proceed on or ahead of schedule. Rough-in construction is generally complete throughout UW/CC third- and fourth-floor spaces, and preliminary finish construction has started. Overall project construction is approximately 75 percent complete.

Education Annex – Literacy Research Center and Clinic (lower floor, Education Annex; scheduled completion January 2014) -- The lower (first) floor of the Education Annex is closed for construction. Pre-construction asbestos abatement has been completed in advance of renovation construction. Limited and sporadic pre-construction activity at the project site will continue to occur before the start of renovation construction in mid-May.

The UW Physical Plant reports the following activities for the week. Please direct questions to the service desk, 766-6225.

Visual Arts Building -- Power company crews will continue to install a gas line on the east side of the building. Watch for equipment in the area.

Campus -- Crews will activate irrigation sprinkler systems for the summer season. Overspray onto sidewalks and driveways could create slippery areas. Turf brooming will be ongoing.

Old Main -- Reconstruction of the men’s fourth-floor restroom will continue this week, and it will remain closed until complete. Please use caution around crews and equipment in the area.

Bureau of Mines (WRI) -- Replacement of the third-story, center east roof is scheduled, weather permitting. Staging will be in the east courtyard. Exercise caution around staging area.

Corbett Pool -- The pool will be closed the entire week for renovations.

Landmark and Spanish Walk Apartments -- Weather permitting, utility potholing, trenching and conduit installation will begin this week. Heavy equipment will be in the area, and sidewalk closures are possible. Please use caution around heavy equipment and crews.

West Campus Electrical Relocation -- Potholing for utilities, excavation and horizontal drilling in the area of Ninth-11th/Lewis-Flint streets will continue. Heavy equipment will be in the area, and partial sidewalk and street closures are possible.

Ross Hall Cafe -- Ross Hall Cafe renovations continue. The facility will be closed through the summer and is scheduled to reopen for the fall semester. The contractor staging and parking area will be on the north side of the building. Please use caution in the area.

Cooper House -- Painting will continue throughout the building this week. Please use caution around crews and materials.

Earth Sciences Building -- Painting will be ongoing in the hallways. Please use caution around painting crews and equipment.

Anthropology Building -- Repairs in the break room west of the south entry continue. Exercise caution in work areas.
