The Regurgitator Brings Unique Act to UW Friday

April 9, 2013

Stevie Starr, known as “The Regurgitator” who swallows items and then regurgitates them, will perform at 9 p.m. Friday, April 12, in the University of Wyoming Union Ballroom.

Friday Night Fever sponsors the show, which is free and open to the public.

In his act, Starr swallow such items as coins, light bulbs, balloons, nails, billiard balls, dry sugar and goldfish, and then brings them back up -- completely dry.

He advanced to the semifinals on Britain’s “Got Talent” show. Starr also has been a guest on “The Tonight Show” with Jay Leno, “Late Show” with David Letterman and “Late Night” with Jimmy Fallon.

He grew up in Glasgow, Scotland, in a children’s home. It was there that Starr developed his unique talent when it became necessary to keep other children from stealing his money and other valuables. He developed the ability to ingest objects and then regurgitate them back up completely dry.

Friday Night Fever, the same night, also will present the film “Silver Lining Playbook” at 6:30, 9 and 11 p.m. in the UW Family Room. The film stars Bradley Cooper, Robert De Niro and Academy Award Best Actress Jennifer Lawrence.
