The University of Wyoming College of Engineering and Applied Science recently recognized faculty and staff for outstanding service and accomplishments.

Award winners for 2013 are:

Gale Bandsma, Department of Mechanical Engineering office associate -- Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honor Society Outstanding Staff Award. Nominations were from students, faculty and staff within the college.

Bart Geerts, professor in the Department of Atmospheric Sciences -- Sam D. Hakes Outstanding Graduate Research and Teaching Award. Selected were made by a panel of three previous award winners to recognize outstanding contributions in graduate research and teaching.

Ted C. Gertsch -- Wyoming Eminent Engineer Award, selected by the Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honor Society Awards Committee based on outstanding engineering contributions by an engineer practicing within the state.

Baillie Miller, office associate senior in the dean’s office -- CEAS Outstanding Staff Award, selected by staff award panel with representation from staff and faculty.

Michael Petera -- Alumnus Eminent Engineer Award, selected by the Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honor Society Awards Committee based on outstanding engineering contributions.

David Walrath, professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering -- Outstanding Undergraduate Teaching Award, selected by the Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honor Society Awards Committee based on outstanding undergraduate teaching.
