Dave Micus will begin work as UW’s new registrar July 1.

A longtime university registrar’s office professional with both regional and international experience has been named the University of Wyoming’s next registrar.

Dave Micus, a former registrar at the University of Montana and current registrar at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology in Saudi Arabia, will begin his work at UW July 1.

“I’m delighted that Dave has agreed to join our very capable and progressive office supporting academic records and registration at UW,” says UW Vice President for Student Affairs Sara Axelson.

Micus has 26 years in the field, serving 18 years as an associate registrar and eight years as a registrar. In addition to his experience in the leadership positions at the University of Montana and King Abdullah University, he worked at Boston University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

"I am very excited to have been chosen to be the registrar at the University of Wyoming,” Micus says. “It has been my goal to secure a position at an exceptional state flagship institution, and the University of Wyoming more than fits that criteria. As registrar, I plan to continue the practice already in place of providing excellent service to the university community."

The UW Office of the Registrar provides effective academic support services to students, faculty, staff and alumni through customer service in areas including registration and academic records issues; graduation and the awarding of degrees; academic transcripts; and enrollment verifications.

Micus received his bachelor's degree in criminal justice from Stockton State College in 1979 and his master's in journalism from Southern Illinois University in 1981. He earned a certificate of advanced graduate study in educational administration from Boston University in 2004.
