Intellectual Property Topic of Sheridan Meeting

September 19, 2013

Information about protecting and developing intellectual property will be presented during a meeting Thursday, Sept. 26, at 7 p.m. in Room W174 of the Whitney Building at Sheridan College.

Phillip Wulf, intellectual property analyst with the University of Wyoming’s Research Products Center (RPC), will discuss a variety of intellectual properties such as patents, trademarks, copyrights and trade secrets.

“I will explain some of the legal aspects of protecting intellectual property and some of the precautions people should take when dealing with them,” Wulf says. “I will discuss the services that the Wyoming Research Products Center offers to the public and how we can help individuals with their intellectual property. My presentation will include other resources, such as attorneys and other UW departments the public can use to further develop their intellectual property, and answer any questions anyone may have.”

The RPC, a technology transfer service offered by UW, assists entrepreneurs and inventors throughout the state to identify, protect and commercialize their intellectual property. More information about RPC services can be found at www.uwyo.edu/rpc.
