UW Energy Resources Council to Meet Nov. 15

November 8, 2013

The University of Wyoming Energy Resources Council will meet at 8 a.m. Friday, Nov. 15, at the BP Collaboration Center in the Energy Innovation Center on the UW campus.

Council members will hear a budget review and forecast for both the School of Energy Resources (SER) fiscal year 2013-14 budget and SER’s $10 million strategic plan, as well as updates on the College of Engineering and Applied Science’s Tier 1 implementation and the High-bay Research Facility.

The council will reconvene after lunch as the Advanced Conversion Technologies Task Force (ACTTF) to hear a follow-up on evaluation criteria and process for final technical reports and a Western Research Institute test-bed proposal.

The ERC was established by the Wyoming State Legislature in 2006. Made up of representatives from industry, state government and academia, the council provides direction to SER on priorities for research and outreach. The ACTTF consists of the voting members of the Energy Resources Council; it awards funds for advanced conversion research.

The UW School of Energy Resources provides undergraduate and graduate education; conducts research on existing and emerging energy resources; and disseminates scientific, engineering and economic information to support Wyoming’s near- and long-term energy future.

People with disabilities requiring special accommodations to attend this meeting should contract the SER at (307) 766-6851. Information about the School of Energy Resources is available at www.uwyo.edu/ser.
