“Ghastly Swamps and Ghost Towns: American Gothic Landscapes from the Art Museum Collection” will be among UW Art Museum exhibitions that open with a reception Friday, Jan. 31, from 6-8 p.m. (UW Art Museum)

These are among activities scheduled Jan. 27- Feb. 2 at the University of Wyoming:

Monday, Jan. 27, 8 a.m. -- Peter Gibbons’ exhibition “Photographing Art of the Hunt,” Gallery 234 in the Wyoming Union lower level. Free, on view through Feb. 6.

Tuesday, Jan. 28, 7 p.m. -- Wesley Berg, visiting artist talk, Visual Arts Building, Room 111. Free.

Wednesday, Jan. 29, 7 p.m. -- Cowgirl basketball vs. Fresno State, Arena-Auditorium. Tickets cost $13 for adults and $7 for youths.

Thursday, Jan. 30, 2:45 p.m. -- French film series, “Le Dîner de cons,” Classroom Building Room 129. Free, subtitles.

Friday, Jan. 31, 6-8 p.m. -- Opening Reception for spring exhibitions at the UW Art Museum. Free.

Friday, Jan. 31, 6:30 p.m. -- Friday Night Fever presents the film “About Time,” Wyoming Union Ballroom. Free.

Friday, Jan. 31, 8-11 p.m. -- Friday Night Fever will provide a free night of ice skating at the Laramie Community Ice and Event Center located at 3510 Garfield Drive. Space is limited and filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Free to UW students with IDs.

Saturday, Feb. 1, 3 p.m. -- Brock Tjosvold senior piano recital, Buchanan Center for the Performing Arts concert hall. Free.

Saturday, Feb. 1, 4:05 p.m. -- Cowboy Basketball vs. Utah State, Arena-Auditorium. Tickets cost $22 for adults and $14 for youths.

Saturday, Feb. 1, 8-10 p.m. -- Friday Night Fever and the Student Activities Council will present a comedy performance from MTV’s “Guy Code” and “Girl Code,” College of Arts and Sciences auditorium. Free.
