These are among activities scheduled Aug. 25-31 at the University of Wyoming:
Tuesday, Aug. 26, 3 p.m. -- University of Georgia researcher John Pickering public seminar, “Monitoring Moth Communities as Indicators of Environmental Health and Changes,” Room 138 of the Berry Center. Free.
Thursday, Aug. 28, 4-7 p.m. -- Laramie Research and Extension Center field day and dinner at the Greenhouse Complex, southwest corner of 30th and Harney streets. Free.
Friday, Aug. 29, all day -- College Colors Day: Cowboy and Cowgirl fans throughout the state are encouraged to wear brown and gold apparel to promote the traditions of UW.
Friday, Aug. 29, 7 p.m. -- Cowboy Kickoff Concert and Pep Rally with country music star Craig Morgan, Tailgate Park on the corner of 20th Street and Grand Avenue. Tickets cost $25 in advance for adults or $35 at the gate the day of the show; students $10 in advance, $15 the day of the show; and children under 12 pay just $8. Advance tickets also are available online at www.uwyo.edu/finearts.
Saturday, Aug. 30, 2 p.m. -- The Cowboys open the football season against the University of Montana Grizzlies in War Memorial Stadium. Ticket prices vary.
A variety of exhibitions can be seen at the UW Art Museum, located in the Centennial Complex, 2111 Willet Drive. The museum is open Mondays through Saturdays from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Free.
Dinosaur skeletons, ancient mammal fossils and other exhibits are on display in the UW Geological Museum, open Mondays through Saturdays from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Free.
The UW Department of Botany’s Williams Conservatory is open to the public from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Fridays. Free.
