UW College of Education Receptions Oct. 2-3 in Riverton, Thermopolis

UW College of Education Interim Dean Michael Day is scheduled to host receptions in Riverton and Thermopolis next week.

University of Wyoming alumni, friends, educators and others in Fremont and Hot Springs counties have opportunities to meet with UW College of Education Interim Dean Michael Day and mark the college’s 100th anniversary next week.

Receptions are planned Thursday, Oct. 2, in Riverton and Friday, Oct. 3, in Thermopolis as part of a 23-county tour by Day to commemorate the College of Education centennial.

“I’m excited to get out and around the state to connect with our many alumni and friends, celebrate a century of service to the state, and seek input on the significant plans we have for the future,” Day says.

The receptions are open to the public, and no RSVP is required. Light refreshments will be served.

-- The Fremont County reception begins at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 2 in the foyer of the Intertribal Center at Central Wyoming College in Riverton. For more information, contact local organizer Barney Cosner at (307) 851-6611.

-- The Hot Springs County reception begins at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 3 in the Hot Springs County Museum and Cultural Center in Thermopolis. The local contact is Lea Schoenewald, (307) 864-3213.

In addition to the public receptions, Day is scheduled to visit with school officials, staff members and students in Fremont and Hot Springs counties.
