Teton Gravity Research Film Shown at UW Oct. 8

October 2, 2014

The Teton Gravity Research film, “Almost Ablaze,” will be shown at 6 and 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8, in the University of Wyoming College of Education auditorium. The two showings are free and open to the public.

Teton Gravity Research is a Jackson Hole group that produces premier ski, snowboard and surf films. They focus on inspiring others to push boundaries and reach for the impossible, while minimizing their impact on the environment and supporting a range of environmental initiatives.

In 1995, Steve Jones, Todd Jones, Dirk Collins and Corey Gavitt teamed up to create the organization. Their goal was to film and document the progression of action sports. In the past 19 years, Teton Gravity Research has completed more than 30 films. They showcase the world’s top athletes, and have created many partnerships and sponsors.

Teton Gravity Research is sponsored by Sony, Atomic, The Ski Journal, GSS (Gyro-Stabilized Systems) and Jackson Hole Mountain Resort.

“If you are looking for a thrilling and motivating film, stop by the education auditorium to watch ‘Almost Ablaze,’” says Mary Gokanakonda, Student Activities Council marketing intern.
