University of Wyoming Calendar for Nov. 3

These are among the activities scheduled Nov. 3-9 at the University of Wyoming:

Monday, Nov. 3, 8 a.m. -- “A Westward Flow” exhibition by Jon Young opens in Gallery 234 in the Wyoming Union.

Monday, Nov. 3, 3:10 p.m. -- Distinguished Lecture Series, Jeff Vervoort discusses “The Growth and Evolution of the Earth’s Earliest Crust,” Room 216 of the S.H. Knight Geology Building. Free.

Monday, Nov. 3, 7:30 p.m. -- Trumpet and Trombone Ensemble concert, Buchanan Center for the Performing Arts concert hall. Free.

Tuesday, Nov. 4-Saturday, Nov. 8, 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 9, 2 p.m. -- The UW Department of Theatre and Dance presents the uproarious comedy, “The Liar,” Buchanan Center for the Performing Arts Studio Theatre. Tickets are $14 for the public, $11 for seniors and $7 for students. Tuesday, Nov. 4 -- Pokes Vote, a nonpartisan campaign to encourage UW to participate in the election.

Wednesday, Nov. 5, 5 p.m. -- Book release party for “Mountains and Plains, 2nd Edition,” in the Berry Biodiversity Conservation Center lobby. Free.

Wednesday, Nov. 5, 8 p.m. -- “Remember, Remember the 5th of November” program with a showing of the film “V is for Vendetta,” and a discussion led by Political Science Professor Gregg Crawley, Wyoming Union Family Room. Free.

Thursday, Nov. 6, 9 a.m. -- Workshop on “Fair Use and Copyright Law,” Room 118 of Coe Library.

Thursday, Nov. 6, 4 p.m. -- Neurologist David Wheeler discusses working with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease) patients, Berry Center auditorium. Free.

Thursday, Nov. 6, 7 p.m. -- Visiting artists Hollis and Lana discuss painting and installation, Visual Arts Building Room 111.
