Researcher Jeanie Thompson will share her findings about mime Marcel Marceau during a talk Tuesday, Oct. 14, at 3 p.m. in the UW American Heritage Center Stock Growers’ Room.

Revelations about mime Marcel Marceau will be presented Tuesday, Oct. 14, at 3 p.m. in the University of Wyoming American Heritage Center (AHC) Stock Growers’ Room.

Jeanie Thompson, the AHC’s Klausner Fellow, will share her archival findings about the famous mime in her lecture, titled “From Storage to Stage: Using Archives to Research, Create and Perform.”

Her research inspired the creation and performance of a multimedia work, titled “There is No Silence,” which is full of images and stories of working with Marceau, her findings in the archive, and how they came to life on stage.

Thompson is a theater creator and movement specialist. She researched the AHC’s Bertha Klausner archive in 2013.

The Bertha Klausner Research Fellowship is funded by an endowment provided by Samuel Klausner and others. It supports research by a recognized scholar in the fields of sociology, urban studies, women’s studies, American history, communications, film, literature and the history of business. The fellowship also is intended to facilitate the use of archival collections held by the AHC.
