UW Offers Safe, Detailed Views of Partial Eclipse Thursday
People interested in viewing Thursday’s partial solar eclipse safely and in detail are invited to do so from Prexy’s Pasture at the University of Wyoming.
The Society of Physics Students will have solar telescopes, pinhole viewers and solar glasses available for use at that location from 3:30-5 p.m. The Laramie Astronomical Society and Space Observers organization also will participate.
The moon will start its eclipse of the sun at 3:17 p.m. MDT Thursday, reaching the peak of its partial eclipse at 4:34 p.m., when about half the sun will be covered by the moon. It should conclude at 5:43 p.m.
