Science Task Force to Meet Nov. 16-17

November 14, 2014

The task force charged with guiding efforts to upgrade science programs and laboratories at the University of Wyoming will meet Sunday and Monday, Nov. 16-17.

The Wyoming Governor’s Top-Tier Sciences Programs and Facilities Task Force will gather at 6 p.m. Sunday at UW’s Berry Biodiversity Conservation Center for a social hour and a dinner, followed by a tour of the Stable Isotope Facility at 7:30 p.m. and a discussion in Room 217.

On Monday, the task force will meet at 8 a.m. in Salon A of the Marian H. Rochelle Gateway Center. The meeting is scheduled to conclude in the early afternoon.

The task force -- composed of accomplished scientists, industry leaders and other professionals -- was appointed by Gov. Matt Mead to work with a team of senior UW faculty members from several scientific departments to plan for remodeled and upgraded laboratory facilities, and emphasize existing research strengths. That’s in line with the Legislature’s directive for UW to become a top academic and research institution in science.
