UW College of Education Receptions Dec. 2

UW College of Education Interim Dean Michael Day is scheduled to host receptions in Lusk, Douglas, Torrington and Wheatland next week.

University of Wyoming alumni, friends, educators and others in eastern Wyoming have opportunities to meet with UW College of Education Interim Dean Michael Day and mark the college’s 100th anniversary next week.

Receptions are planned Tuesday, Dec. 2, in Lusk; Wednesday, Dec. 3, in Douglas; Thursday, Dec. 4, in Torrington; and Friday, Dec. 5, in Wheatland as part of a 23-county tour by Day to commemorate the College of Education centennial.

“I’m excited to get out and around the state to connect with our many alumni and friends, celebrate a century of service to the state, and seek input on the significant plans we have for the future,” Day says.

All of the receptions are open to the public, and no RSVP is required. Light refreshments will be served.

-- The Niobrara County reception begins at 5 p.m. Dec. 2 at the Niobrara County Fairgrounds Gun Club in Lusk.

-- The Converse County reception begins at 5:30 p.m. Dec. 3 at the Douglas Country Club, 64 Golf Course Road.

-- The Goshen County reception begins at 5:30 p.m. Dec. 4 in the Conestoga Room of Torrington City Hall, 436 E. 22nd Ave.

-- The Platte County reception begins at 4:30 p.m. Dec. 5 at the First State Bank Conference Center, 1405 16th St. in Wheatland.

In addition to the public receptions, Day is scheduled to visit with school officials, staff members and students in the three counties.
