“Masterworks of the Late 19th Century” is the theme of the University of Wyoming Department of Music’s Faculty Recital Series final fall concert Sunday, Nov. 16, at 3 p.m. in Buchanan Center for the Performing Arts concert hall. The performance is free and open to the public.

Faculty members performing are: Sherry Sinift, violin; Jason Johnston, French horn; Chi-Chen Wu, piano; Beth Vanderborgh, cello; and guest violist Rebecca Henry.

The concert highlights the lush, sweeping moods of the Romantic Era. Johannes Brahms’ magnificent “Horn Trio in E-flat major, Op. 40” was composed in 1865 to commemorate the death of his mother earlier that year. Faure’s “Piano Quartet in C Minor, Op. 15” was first performed in 1880.
