New WyoGroup Site Offers Safety Information

December 8, 2014

Do you know how to correctly jump-start a dead automobile battery? What are the risks, and how do you prevent carbon monoxide poisoning? What can you do to avoid the flu? How can you be better prepared for winter survival and other emergencies?

The University of Wyoming Risk Management and Safety Office is providing exclusive informational downloads from the National Safety Council (NSC), of which UW is an institutional member. In order to disseminate these “members-only” materials (to anyone with a WyoWeb login), a new Risk Management and Safety WyoGroup site has been created.

UW faculty, staff and students can access the group pages by logging in to WyoWeb (linked from the UW homepage), clicking the WyoGroups tab on the far right and searching the group index for “Risk Management and Safety.” Alternatively, you can go straight to this link (you still may need to log in with UW username and password).

The home page of this new WyoGroup lists links to several pages on cold weather safety, driver safety, emergency preparedness, personal protection and other topics of safety awareness. On each page are downloadable NSC “5-Minute Safety Talks,” full-color posters and fact sheets.

Keep coming back to the Risk Management and Safety WyoGroup, as new materials become available from the NSC.
