UW College of Education Receptions Dec. 9

University of Wyoming alumni, friends, educators and others in southeastern Wyoming have opportunities to meet with UW College of Education Interim Dean Michael Day and mark the college’s 100th anniversary next week.

Receptions are planned Tuesday, Dec. 9, in Cheyenne; Wednesday, Dec. 10, in Rawlins; and Thursday, Dec. 11, in Laramie as part of a 23-county tour by Day to commemorate the College of Education centennial.

“I’m excited to get out and around the state to connect with our many alumni and friends, celebrate a century of service to the state, and seek input on the significant plans we have for the future,” Day says.

All of the receptions are open to the public, and no RSVP is required. Light refreshments will be served.

-- The Laramie County reception begins at 5:30 p.m. Dec. 9 in the Powder River Room of the Historic Plains Hotel, 1600 Central Ave. in Cheyenne.

-- The Carbon County reception begins at 5:30 p.m. Dec. 10 in the Rawlins Depot, 400 W. Front St.

-- The Albany County reception begins at 5 p.m. in the UW Education Annex’s Sullivan Family Student Center on the UW campus in Laramie.

In addition to the public receptions, Day is scheduled to visit with school officials, staff members and students in the three counties.
