Sign-ups for almost 40 spring programs, clinics and outings through the University of Wyoming’s Outdoor Program are underway.
This semester, members of the UW community can participate in activities such as rock- and ice-climbing trips, snowshoeing outings and bike-tuning clinics.
A new program offering will be ski bus rides to Snowy Range Ski Area, with one trip Feb. 14 and another March 7.
“Each bus ride is only $18 per person, and riders get a $10 voucher from Snowy Range toward rental equipment or lift tickets so, essentially, the ride is only $8,” says Dan McCoy, Campus Recreation assistant director and Outdoor Program coordinator.
Special programs this spring include two nights of the Banff Mountain Film Festival “World Tour” Feb. 18-19, and a presentation by National Geographic writer Mark Jenkins about the largest cave on Earth March 3. Both events are free; however, tickets are needed for the film festival.
The outdoor gear swap, a popular bi-annual event, is scheduled April 12 in the Yellowstone Ballroom of the Wyoming Union.
