Musicians Edgar Meyer and Mike Marshall will perform an Americana and bluegrass concert Friday, March 6, at 7:30 p.m. at the University of Wyoming Buchanan Center for the Performing Arts concert hall.
Marshall is a master of the mandolin, guitar, mandocello and violin. He has been performing for more than 35 years, playing a variety of music styles such as bluegrass, Brazilian choro and Baroque classical.
Meyer began studying bass at the age of 5 and has worked as both a solo classical bassist and in collaborations with other artists.
Meyer and Marshall’s partnership has led to two albums; both were nominated for Grammy Awards. They performed in 1999 at the Grammys, and have toured the U.S., Europe and Asia.
A limited number of free tickets are available at the UW Campus Activities Center -- located in the lower level of the Wyoming Union -- with a valid UW student ID. A maximum of two tickets will be given to students.
UW Friday Night Fever and Cultural Programs sponsor the performance.
