“Equal Pay? = $: Debunking the Myths behind the Gender Wage Gap Issue” is the topic of a panel discussion from 3-4 p.m. Thursday, April 9, in Room 002 of the University of Wyoming Union.
Do you think that equal pay is relevant? Do you think that it affects you? Do you want to discuss the issue? Do you want to ask questions and get answers? Do you want to learn how you can make a difference in your pay, and others’ wages? Those are some of the questions that will be answered during the free hour-long panel discussion.
According to statistics provided by the event’s organizers, for an entry-level job in 2012, male graduates made an average of $42,918, while females in comparable positions made $35,296 -- a $7,600 difference.
The UW Women’s Center and the American Association of University Women sponsor the event.
