University of Wyoming Calendar for June 29

These are among the activities scheduled June 29-July 5 at the University of Wyoming:

Monday, June 29, noon -- School of Energy Resources Distinguished Speaker Series presents Le Quoc Hung, international expert in geology and remote sensing from the Vietnam Institute of Geosciences and Mineral Resources and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment. His talk, “Vietnam’s Hanoi Coal Basin located in the Red River Delta,” will be in the Encana Auditorium of the Energy Innovation Center. Free.

Wednesday, July 1, 11 a.m. -- Planetarium show, “Summer Stargazing.” Tickets cost $2 for students and $3 for nonstudents, Physical Sciences Building basement. Advance tickets are available in Room 204 of the Physical Sciences Building.

Friday, July 3, 8 p.m. -- Planetarium show, “Treasures of the Milky Way.” A STAR Observatory tour follows at 9 p.m. Tickets cost $2 for students and $3 for nonstudents, Physical Sciences Building basement. Advance tickets are available in Room 204 of the Physical Sciences Building.

A variety of exhibitions can be seen at the UW Art Museum in the Centennial Complex, 2111 Willett Drive in Laramie. The museum is open Mondays through Saturdays from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Free.

The UW Department of Botany’s Williams Conservatory is open to the public Mondays through Fridays from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Free.

Dinosaur skeletons, ancient mammal fossils and other exhibits are on display in the UW Geological Museum, open Mondays through Saturdays from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Free.
