Hoyt Hall Occupants Relocate to Crane Hall

Personnel in the University of Wyoming departments of English and Modern and Classical Languages, who previously occupied Hoyt Hall, have relocated to Crane Hall through the end of the spring 2016 semester.

Built in 1916 as a women’s dormitory, Hoyt Hall will undergo a major renovation. In addition to several general use classrooms, the building currently houses faculty and staff offices, managed classrooms and shared support spaces for the two departments.

The renovation project includes life-safety and accessibility improvements as required by the building code, and enhancements to interior finishes in faculty and staff offices, classrooms, study areas and other building spaces. The work also includes energy efficient upgrades to current lighting, restroom renovations, installation of new electrical and data systems wiring, and replacement of the existing fire alarm system.

MOA Architecture of Casper is completing the architectural design for the project. Construction is anticipated to begin in early October and be complete by April 29, 2016. The total project budget for the Hoyt Hall renovation is $2.9 million, funded through an allocation of major maintenance funds.
