An assessment of the University of Wyoming’s financial and reporting system will begin this week, with certain UW employees asked to complete a survey and participate in interviews.
The effort is led jointly by the Division of Administration and the Division of Information Technology. A third-party firm, Huron Consulting Group, was retained by the UW Board of Trustees in July to assist.
The first phase of the assessment is an evaluation of reporting needs. Data gathering will consist of a survey tool and interviews with campus groups.
“If you are selected to receive the survey, please take the time to fill it out completely and return,” says UW Vice President for Administration Bill Mai. “This will greatly assist in our evaluation process.”
For those selected for in-person interviews, Administration’s Megan Hanneman or IT’s Jen Chavez will be in touch to set up times for the consultant to talk with the employees about the reporting needs for their areas of responsibility. Interviews are scheduled to start the week of Aug. 31 and will run throughout September.
“Thank you in advance for your participation in this project,” Mai says.
The assessment will set the stage for a campuswide transformation of the way the university tracks and reports financial information.
