A free screening of the “Best Worst Movie,” followed by “Troll 2,” will take place at 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 23, in the University of Wyoming Union Ballroom.
Known for being one of the worst films for its poor quality script, “Troll 2” is about vegetarian goblins plotting to turn a young boy and his family into plants. Twenty years later, the 1989 film became a sensation to a cult-like fan base, which offered special screenings around the United States.
The film was so bad it later became the topic of a critically acclaimed documentary, “Best Worst Movie.” Directed by Michael Stephenson, one of the original actors of “Troll 2,” the documentary takes a look at the film’s failure, the stories behind the characters and the following the film has created.
The Student Activities Council sponsors the event, which is free and open to the public.
