Professor KJ Reddy in the University of Wyoming Department of Ecosystem Science and Management will be among award recipients who will be recognized on Ag Appreciation Weekend Sept. 25-26 during the Wyoming-New Mexico football game.
Reddy, known for his energy and water research, received the Andrew Vanvig Lifetime Distinguished Faculty Achievement Award. He studies natural resource issues that pose major challenges to maintain sustainable environments for ecosystems.
“The breadth and depth of Dr. Reddy’s research is extraordinary,” says Professor Scott Miller, head of the department.
“He has contributed significant research to a range of critical areas including soil shale, acid mine drainage, nitrates in drinking water, coalbed natural gas-co-produced water quality and arsenic, to name a few,” Miller says. “KJ possesses a rare, keen intellect and willingness to embrace new research challenges, and provide key insight into topics relevant to both human and environmental health.”
Dynamic alumni, a company actively involved in research, and a nonprofit organization facilitating change across Wyoming also will be recognized. They are Charles “Bud” Christensen and Ken Hamilton, outstanding alumni; the John P. Ellbogen Foundation, legacy award; and Anadarko Petroleum Corp., outstanding research partner.
