Please make sure all windows and doors are completely closed, and windows are latched. If you are unable to secure windows and/or doors, please contact the Physical Plant Service Desk at 766-6225.

Snow Removal -- Physical Plant crews will remove snow as needed throughout the season. Watch for snow-removal equipment, be careful and safe during snow events, and call the Service Desk at 766-6225 to report icy spots and problem areas.

The UW Facilities Planning Office reports the following activities for the week:

Excavation for a detention pond on the north side of the site is complete. Storm drainage lines are being installed along the north side of the building. Storm drain No. 1 is a line that will extend south of the construction site along 19th Street and be routed into the detention pond at 19th and Willett. This work will begin in the next couple of weeks and continue into spring. The concrete floor slabs in the north and west wings of the building have been poured, with the exception of the electrical room and the remaining lift of concrete to complete the strong floor in the structural testing lab. Reinforcing rebar and formwork are being installed in the floor of the structural testing lab. Structural steel has been placed on the west wing of the building and is nearing completion. The steel deck is being placed on the west wing and the second floor, with the concrete floor slab for this area scheduled Tuesday, Nov. 17. Site-cast concrete wall panels have been erected on the north wing of the building, allowing the structural steel work to begin in this area.

The parking lot on the east side of the Buchanan Center for the Performing Arts is now open. Building visitors can enter through the main east entrance. Landscape plantings and boulder placement are ongoing. Be cautious with heavy equipment in the east parking area and sidewalks. Material staging is in the north parking lot.
