Film screenings of “Interstellar” will be shown Friday, Nov. 20, at 4 p.m. and 9 p.m. in the Harry C. Vaughan University of Wyoming Planetarium, located in the basement of the Physical Sciences Building.
In addition to the film, the planetarium program “100 Years of General Relativity” will be at 7 p.m. A reception to celebrate the 100-year anniversary of Einstein’s famous theory will be at 6 p.m. in the the planetarium’s atrium.
A panel of UW professors will discuss how “Interstellar” pertains to the professors’ areas of expertise at 8 p.m. The panel will be composed of Mike Pierce, physics and astronomy associate professor; Yuri Dahnovsky, physics and astronomy professor; and Bob Howell, associate professor of planetary geology, remote sensing, infrared instrumentation and astronomy.
Friday Night Fever and the Society of Physics Students host the events, which are free and open to the public.
