Artist Wayne White will visit the University of Wyoming Nov. 9-13 as part of a three-part, grant-funded program, “The Global Arts Education Series,” which seeks to enhance and cultivate diversity while embracing and promoting excellence in art.
Formerly from Tennessee, White has a background in illustration, set design, puppeteering and painting.
White will discuss his life as a visual artist Tuesday, Nov. 10, at 7 p.m. in the College of Education auditorium. He also will collaborate with UW art students in an ongoing workshop that will culminate with a live performance, “The Spectacle,” Friday, Nov. 13, at 7 p.m. in the Visual Arts Building lobby.
Both events are free and open to the public.
This event is sponsored by Visual and Cultural Arts and the UW Department of Art and Art History. His documentary, “Beauty is Embarrassing,” was shown on campus Oct. 27.
This project also is supported, in part, by a grant from the Wyoming Arts Council, through funding from the Wyoming State Legislature and the National Endowment for the Arts.
