The University of Wyoming Art Museum will host a new series, “Lunchtime Conversations with Curators,” beginning Wednesday, Feb. 3, from noon-12:30 p.m.

Informational gallery walk-throughs with museum curators and special guests are planned during the spring semester on the first Wednesday of each month from noon-12:30 p.m. at the museum. Each month will feature a different exhibition. This event is free and open to the public.

February’s featured guest is Jordan D. Schnitzer, art collector and lender of the artwork on view in “Emancipating the Past: Kara Walker's Tales of Slavery and Power.” He joins the Art Museum’s curator of education and statewide engagement, Katie Christensen, and curator of collections, Nicole Crawford, in an informal dialogue that will include stories behind Walker’s art, along with a question-and-answer session.

For more information, call the Art Museum at (307) 766-6622, visit the website at www.uwyo.edu/artmuseum, or follow the museum on Facebook and Instagram.

Through its “Museum as Classroom” approach, the UW Art Museum places art at the center of learning for all ages. The museum is located in the Centennial Complex at 2111 Willett Drive in Laramie. Hours are Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday hours are extended to 7 p.m. February through April and September through November. Admission is free.
