Free tickets for University of Wyoming students will be available beginning Monday, Feb. 15, for the alternative rock band X Ambassadors. The band is scheduled to perform Friday, April 1, at 9 p.m. in the UW College of Arts and Sciences auditorium.

Students providing valid IDs will be allowed four free tickets; tickets for the public cost $10. Public tickets will go on sale Monday, Feb. 22. Tickets can be purchased at the Wyoming Union information desk, the Buchanan Center for the Performing Arts box office or online at

Based in Ithaca, N.Y., X Ambassadors set out to find “stardom” nearly a decade ago. Members of the band grew up listening to the Beatles, various punk-rock bands and hip-hop -- all genres that have shaped the band’s sound.

According to the band’s website, “It is unusual for a guitar-driven band to welcome elements of soul and hip-hop into their guitar assault with as much balance and care as X Ambassadors do. They have been, after all, all about the rock since their early days.”

The band has toured with many prominent groups, including Imagine Dragons, Jimmy Eat World and Panic! At The Disco. The X Ambassadors also have performed on “Late Night with Seth Meyers” and “The View.”

X Ambassadors will feature music from musicians Seinabo Sey and Savoir Adore during the UW concert.

This will be the first event hosted by the new UW program board 7220 Entertainment -- composed of the four current program boards that make up the Campus Activities Center: Concerts and Convocations, Friday Night Fever, Student Activities Council, and Visual and Cultural Arts.
