A public debate and roundtable discussion on Wyoming’s fiscal health and economic base will take place Tuesday, March 8, at 7 p.m. at the University of Wyoming Union’s West Ballroom.
Hosted by UW’s debate team, the event -- titled “Wyoming’s Fiscal Health: Charting a Sustainable Course” -- will focus on what Wyoming can do to diversify its energy-based economy. The public is invited, and refreshments will be served.
In addition to a demonstration debate, the evening will include discussion by state policymakers and administrators, and an opportunity to pose questions to them.
Scheduled to participate are state Sen. Chris Rothfuss, the Senate’s minority floor leader; state Rep. Cathy Connolly, a UW professor of gender and women’s studies; Chris Boswell, UW’s vice president for governmental and community affairs; and economist Anne Alexander, UW’s associate vice president for academic affairs.
