Wyoming EPSCoR Creates New Award for UW Women in STEM

In an effort to support woman in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), Wyoming EPSCoR has created the Own It! Awards.

Wyoming EPSCoR (Experimental Program to Stimulate Competitive Research) is seeking nominations for University of Wyoming female students, staff and faculty in STEM.

Criteria for the Own It! Awards include:

-- A female student, staff or faculty member who has made significant contributions to her field of research in the last 18 months.

-- Demonstrates aptitude and scholarly success.

-- Demonstrates service, leadership and/or mentoring on the UW campus.

Nominations may come from any person on campus who works directly with the nominee.

Send nominations, with the subject reading “Own It! Nomination,” to Liz Nysson, Wyoming EPSCoR project coordinator, at lizn@uwyo.edu by 5 p.m. Friday, March 25. All nominees will be recognized, and awards will be presented May 4.
