Small Business Webinar About Franchising Scheduled July 7

June 9, 2016

Franchising a business will be the subject of the next Wyoming Small Business Development Center (SBDC) webinar.

“Franchising: Business Ownership With a Safety Net!” is scheduled Thursday, July 7, 2-3 p.m. Cindy Rayfield, franchise specialist from FranNet Colorado, will present the SBDC webinar that will go beyond the world of franchising hamburgers and French fries.

The SBDC is a partnership among the University of Wyoming, the Wyoming Business Council and the U.S. Small Business Administration. The SBDC focuses on educating small business owners and potential owners on how to successfully start and operate a small business. The SBDC’s main office is located at UW.

There are more than 3,000 franchise concepts that thrive in all types of industries and areas. Franchisors are looking for people with well-rounded business skills to invest in and succeed in their concepts. Investment can be under $100,000 for some concepts. Because they have proven track records, franchises tend to be more financing-friendly than independent startups.

The fee for the webinar is $15. To register, go to

Reasonable accommodations for persons with disabilities will be made, if requested at least two weeks in advance.

The Wyoming SBDC Network is a business advising group of the Wyoming SBDC, Procurement Technical Assistance Center, Market Research Center and Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR)/Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) Initiative. The network’s mission is to help Wyoming entrepreneurs succeed.
