UW Board of Trustees to Meet June 15

Plans to reduce the University of Wyoming’s budget by more than $41 million in the upcoming biennium will come before UW’s Board of Trustees Wednesday, June 15.

President Laurie Nichols is scheduled to present the administration’s proposal for about $19 million in immediate reductions in the fiscal year that begins July 1, 2016, and at least $10 million in the fiscal year that begins July 1, 2017, with action by the board expected. In addition, the plan calls for one-time, internal reallocations.

The meeting begins at 8 a.m. with an executive session in Salons D and E of the Marian H. Rochelle Gateway Center. Public testimony will be accepted at 11:30 a.m.; those wishing to speak will be asked to sign up beforehand at the Gateway Center.

In addition to the budget discussions, the board is scheduled to hear updates on construction, enrollment, the provost search and other issues.
