UW Art Museum Gala, After Party Ticket Deadlines Near

The deadline to buy tickets or tables for the University of Wyoming Art Museum’s 23rd annual gala fundraiser is Monday, Oct. 10. Tickets for “The After Party” are available through Saturday, Oct. 1.
Tickets for the Saturday, Oct. 22, gala are $175 each. Tables are available to purchase at various sponsorship levels. To make a purchase, go to http://wyoalumni.uwyo.edu/artgala2016

This year’s gala, “Wyoming Rocks! Celebrating Wyoming Resources & Wonders,” will take place from 6 p.m.-midnight in the Marian H. Rochelle Gateway Center.
The gala is planned as a fun-filled, festive evening of fine food, libations, music and dancing, friends and an expansive auction set around the theme of Wyoming-made products, experiences, resources and art. Black-tie attire is requested.
The Art Museum will host its inaugural “Wyoming Rocks! The After Party” concurrent with the gala from 10 p.m.-midnight. Tickets are $50 per person and available in advance only to people 21 and older. Limited to the first 200 verified purchases, they are available at http://wyoalumni.uwyo.edu/2016-TheAfterParty.
Gala tickets and tables include “The After Party” event; no separate purchase is necessary.
“The After Party” is planned as an exciting, Wyoming-themed event with dancing to the live catawampus American music of J Shogren Shanghai’d. Laniece “Mama Lenny” Schleicher will make a special guest appearance. Food, libations and a special photo booth will be part of the event. Cocktail attire is requested.

“Wyoming Rocks! Celebrating Wyoming’s Resources & Wonders” and “Wyoming Rocks! The After Party” will support the Art Museum this year. The Art Museum’s programs are anchored on a comprehensive and growing collection of more than 8,000 objects, and a diverse exhibition program that ranges from innovative artists of the present time to art of the American West, and art from other times and cultures. The Art Museum’s original art resources form the basis for education and outreach programs that serve the state of Wyoming and enable academic and community engagement opportunities.

Through its “Museum as Classroom” approach, the UW Art Museum places art at the center of learning for all ages. Located in the Centennial Complex at 2111 Willett Drive in Laramie, the museum is open Mondays through Saturdays from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday hours are extended to 7 p.m. February through April and September through November. Admission is free.
