University of Wyoming Cultural Programs presents the Los Angeles Guitar Quartet (LAGQ) in concert Friday, Oct. 21, at 7:30 p.m. in the Buchanan Center for the Performing Arts concert hall.

Tickets cost $23 for the public; $19 for senior citizens, UW faculty and staff; and $10 for students. Tickets are available at the Performing Arts box office and the Wyoming Union information desk, by calling (307) 766-6666 or going online at www.uwyo.edu/finearts.

A Grammy Award-winning group, LAGQ consistently plays sold-out shows worldwide and is recognized as one of America’s premier instrumental ensembles.

LAGQ is composed of four uniquely accomplished musicians bringing a new energy to the concert stage with programs ranging from bluegrass to Bach.

Quartet members are: John Dearman, director of the Guitar Chamber Music program at California State University-Northridge; Matthew Greif, classical and jazz guitar instructor at California State University-Dominguez Hills; William Kanengiser, assistant professor of practice at the University of Southern California (USC) Thornton School of Music; and Scott Tennant, associate professor at USC Thornton School of Music.

Each year, UW Cultural Programs brings a variety of internationally known performers to campus, often at ticket prices much less than at larger venues. This season features three remaining performances during the fall semester and six spring semester performances.

The three remaining fall Cultural Programs events are: Joseph Cashore’s Marionettes, Thursday, Nov. 3; 17-year-old acclaimed pianist Daniel Hsu, Friday, Nov. 18; and the Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain, Tuesday, Dec. 6.
