SBDC Webinar Focuses on Winning Customers

With the holiday season fast approaching, customer service will be a major contributor to client loyalty at a time business staff is typically stressed out due to the demands of the holiday season.

A Small Business Development Center (SBDC) webinar, titled “Winning the Customers - Understand the Keys to Customer Service and Success,” is scheduled online Thursday, Nov. 3, from 2-3 p.m. Whether a business is brick and mortar, online or a service business, the webinar is designed to help businesses learn concepts to help them improve their customer service.

The SBDC is a partnership among the University of Wyoming, the Wyoming Business Council and the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). The SBDC focuses on educating small-business owners and potential owners on how to successfully start and operate small businesses. The SBDC’s main office is located at UW.

Hannah Swanbom, a UW Extension community development educator, will present the webinar. The fundamental purpose of a business is to obtain and keep customers, she says. Customers need to feel welcomed, important, respected and appreciated. Satisfied customers become loyal, repeat customers. Repeat buyers often become advocates for an establishment, creating word-of-mouth advertising. Additionally, a customer-focused company has reduced employee turnover.

Registration fee for the program is $15, and participants can register and pay online at www.wyomingsbdc.org

Reasonable accommodations for persons with disabilities will be made if requested at least two weeks in advance. For more information, call Peggy Baker at 1-800-348-5194.

The Wyoming SBDC Network is a business advising group of the Wyoming SBDC, Procurement Technical Assistance Center, Market Research Center and Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR)/Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) Initiative. The network’s mission is to help Wyoming entrepreneurs succeed. Advising and most market research activities are free of charge to Wyoming residents.

The SBDC is funded, in part, through a cooperative agreement with the U.S. SBA. Additional support is provided by the Wyoming Business Council and UW.
