A major redesign of the University of Wyoming’s website takes effect today (Monday), resulting in an improved user experience, especially with mobile devices.

Those logging into with mobile devices no longer are required to manually adjust the size of text and images on their screens. The website is responsive, meaning it adjusts automatically to the size of the user’s device, from desktop to cellphone.

“More and more people are accessing the university’s website through mobile devices, and the new design makes the experience much more satisfying for those people,” says Chad Baldwin, UW’s associate vice president for communications and marketing. “At the same time, the website retains its utility for users who view it on larger screens.”

The change also brings a modern design to the website, UW’s primary marketing platform, with increased video and graphic content. Issues with Americans with Disabilities Act accessibility also are addressed with the redesign.

“The University of Wyoming is a dynamic, technologically advanced institution, and it is important that our digital front door reflects those characteristics,” Baldwin says. “Prospective students and their parents, current students, employees, alumni and other supporters of UW -- along with those who just want to learn something about us -- will find what they’re looking for at the new”
