UW Safe Treat to be Held at Buchanan Center for the Performing Arts Oct. 28

Safe Treat, the University of Wyoming’s annual trick-or-treating event for children, is returning with a new venue on campus.

This always-popular event will be held in the Buchanan Center for the Performing Arts (BCPA) Friday, Oct. 28, from 4-6 p.m.

Festivities will include traditional trick-or-treating stations throughout the BCPA building, games, activities and tours of the spooky “Dracula” theatrical set by UW Department of Theatre and Dance personnel.

Limited parking is available immediately to the west, north and east of the BCPA, while ample overflow parking is available a short walk or shuttle ride from the Ford Stadium Parking Lot to the east of War Memorial Stadium. Safe Treat patrons should park on the south side of the stadium lot, which provides the best access to pedestrian corridors to the BCPA. The use of the free UWYO Roundup shuttle system is highly encouraged to attend events on campus.

UW Transit and Parking Services will only enforce major violations after 3 p.m. in the parking lots adjacent to the BCPA for the Safe Treat event.

As in years past, canned food items will be collected at Safe Treat to support the Laramie Soup Kitchen pantry, and participants are urged to support the program.
