University of Wyoming Calendar for Nov. 21-27

These are among the activities scheduled Nov. 21-27 at the University of Wyoming:

Monday, Nov. 21, 3:10 p.m. -- A lecture, titled “The Boom and Bust Cycles of Full Waveform Inversion: Is FWI a Bust, a Boom or Becoming a Commodity?” will take place in Ross Hall, Room 247. Free.

Monday, Nov. 21, 3:10 p.m. -- The Department of Geology and Geophysics Distinguished Lecturer Series presents Paul Hsieh, research hydrologist at the U.S. Geological Survey. Hsieh’s talk, “The Science Behind the Taming of the Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill,” will take place in the S.H. Knight Geology Building, Room 216. Free.

Monday, Nov. 21, 7:30 p.m. -- The UW brass ensembles will present “Summon the Brass” in the Buchanan Center for the Performing Arts recital hall. Free.

Tuesday, Nov. 22, 6:30 p.m. -- Cowgirl basketball vs. Adams State, Arena-Auditorium. Ticket prices vary.

Tuesday, Nov. 22, 7 p.m. -- Planetarium show, “This Month’s Sky.” Tickets cost $3 for students and $4 for non-students, Physical Sciences Building basement. Advance tickets are available in the Physical Sciences Building, Room 204.

Wednesday, Nov. 23-Friday, Nov. 25 -- Thanksgiving break. No classes in session. Most UW offices will be closed Thursday and Friday.

Sunday, Nov. 27, 2 p.m. -- Cowboy wrestling vs. Iowa State, UniWyo Sports Complex. Ticket prices vary.
