February 10, 2017

(Note: From now on, the weekly construction update will highlight only projects with new developments. Comprehensive updates will be distributed monthly. For the most recent comprehensive update, click here.)

These are among the construction activities scheduled Feb. 12-18 at the University of Wyoming.

Colder Weather Advisory (UW Operations) -- UW Operations asks building occupants to assist with ensuring buildings and facilities are safe and secure. Make sure all windows and doors are completely closed with windows latched at the end of each day, and report any doors or windows that you are unable to close and secure to the Service Desk (766-6225).

Snow Removal (UW Operations) -- With the warmer temperatures this week, there has been a lot of melting; please be cautious, as overnight some freezing and slick spots have occurred. Please report any major slick spots to the Service Desk (766-6225). Crews will remove snow as needed throughout the season. Watch for snow-removal equipment; be careful and safe during snow events. Call the Service Desk (766-6225) to report icy spots and problem areas.

Wyoming State Vet Lab Renovations (BSL-3) (General contractor Sampson Construction, Cheyenne; June 2017) -- This Saturday, Feb. 11, there will be a shutdown for building steam and feed water to the new boiler.

Engineering Education and Research Building (EERB) (Construction manager GE Johnson Construction Wyoming, Casper; spring 2019) -- “No parking” signs will go up on the east side of 12th Street for the duration of the project. Please observe direction signs placed within the streets around the project.

Mick and Susie McMurry High Altitude Performance Center (Construction manager at risk GE Johnson Construction Wyoming LLC, Jackson; June 2018) -- Steel erection for the building will begin next week. Although overhead work will be limited within the construction fence, there will be mobilization of cranes, along with heavier truck traffic in this area. In addition, there also might be some brief interruptions to pedestrian traffic. Please use caution when in or near this area.
