The University of Wyoming society for educators, Kappa Delta Pi, is February’s featured recognized student organization (RSO), selected by the Campus Activities Center staff.
In Greek, Kappa Delta Pi means knowledge, duty and power. The society focuses on not only those three words, but also scholarship, innovation and excellence in the education field.
UW’s Alpha Mu chapter of Kappa Delta Pi gives all educators opportunities to further their educational experience and to collaborate with others in their field. Members of Kappa Delta Pi share knowledge and create lifelong partnerships and friendships.
Alpha Mu is open to all educators, including graduate students. The chapter offers literacy events for school-aged children, trainings for teachers, the Professional Clothing Swap for Educators program, community service events and leadership training.
For more information about joining Kappa Delta Pi, visit the Collegiate Link at https://uwyo.collegiatelink.net/organization/KappaDeltaPi or follow on Facebook at www.facebook.com/kappadeltapiUW/.
Campus Activities Center (CAC) graduate assistant Kelli Anderson enjoys the featured monthly RSO nominations and what the clubs have to offer UW students.
“The featured RSOs are chosen initially by self-nomination; then, the staff at the CAC reviews the reasonings for why they should be featured,” Anderson says. “We select RSOs based on their own descriptions and reasonings.”
For more information about how to nominate an organization as CAC’s next featured RSO, visit www.uwyo.edu/union/cac/rso/featured-rso/, email rsohelp@uwyo.edu, like the Wyoming Union on Facebook, or follow on Twitter @UWYOCAC.
