Bluegrass band The Infamous Stringdusters will perform Wednesday, March 22, at 8 p.m. in the lower level of the University of Wyoming Union. The event is free and open to the public.
The Infamous Stringdusters is a Grammy-nominated band, best known for its bluegrass sounds. The band was at first hesitant to label itself as solely bluegrass, but has since become comfortable with the title.
Music performed by the Stringdusters largely reflects bluegrass styles but mixes in styles from multiple genres. The band features the dobro, guitar, fiddle, double bass and banjo. Vocals also are important to the band to convey the emotion in each song.
“What we do is a hybrid of the improvisational and bluegrass worlds,” says Chris Pandolfi, Stringdusters banjo player. “While our music is our own concept, hopefully it does justice to the amazing components of the bluegrass world.”
