University of Wyoming Calendar for March 20

These are among the activities scheduled March 20-26 at the University of Wyoming:

Monday, March 20, 7 p.m. – Cowboy basketball vs. Missouri-Kansas City in the College Basketball Invitational, Arena-Auditorium. Ticket prices vary.

Tuesday, March 21, 6:30 p.m. -- The 7220 Entertainment Films Committee will present “Girl Rising” in the Wyoming Union Family Room. Free.

Tuesday, March 21, 7 p.m. -- Planetarium show, “This Month’s Sky.” Tickets cost $3 for students and $4 for non-students, Physical Sciences Building basement. Advance tickets are available in the Physical Sciences Building, Room 204.

Wednesday, March 22, 4 p.m. -- The UW Division of Kinesiology and Health presents guest lecturers Hillary Yoder, Ryan Putnam and Jacob Layer. They will discuss various health-related topics as part of the division’s Intellectual Community Seminar Series in the Corbett Building, Room 137. Free.

Wednesday, March 22, 5 p.m. -- The UW chapter of the National Society of Leadership and Success presents a guest lecturer broadcast with Hoda Kotb. Kotb is an Emmy Award-winning co-host of NBC’s “Today” show and will discuss perseverance through rejection in the Classroom Building, Room 314. Free.

Wednesday, March 22, 5:30 p.m. -- “Healthy Weight Loss,” a nutrition education seminar, will be presented in the Half Acre Recreation and Wellness Center classroom, Room 115. Free.

Wednesday, March 22, 6:30 p.m. -- The UW chapter of the National Society of Leadership and Success presents a guest lecturer broadcast with Anderson Cooper. Cooper is an Emmy Award-winning anchor of CNN’s “Anderson Cooper 360°.” He will discuss his career and what it takes to become successful in the Classroom Building, Room 314. Free.

Wednesday, March 22, 8 p.m. -- Bluegrass artists The Infamous Stringdusters will perform in the lower level of the Wyoming Union. Free.

Thursday, March 23, noon -- Cowgirl tennis vs. New Mexico State, UW Indoor Tennis Complex. Free.

Thursday, March 23, 4:10 p.m. -- The UW Department of Mathematics presents guest lecturer Jessica Conway, assistant professor of mathematics at Penn State, as part of the Fisk Distinguished Lecture Series. Conway will present in the Agriculture Building, Room 1032. Free.

Thursday, March 23, 7 p.m. -- Studio WYO presents musical performances by Whiskey Slaps with Colin Keeney in the Wyoming Union Gardens. Free.

Thursday, March 23, 7:30 p.m. -- UW Cultural Programs presents jazz vocalist Alicia Olatuja in the Buchanan Center for the Performing Arts concert hall. Tickets cost $17 for the public; $14 for senior citizens, UW faculty and staff; and $10 for students.
