University of Wyoming Assistant Professor Morteza Dejam has received a prestigious award from a Canadian institution of higher learning.

On June 21, Dejam was given the “Teaching Achievement Award” from the Schulich School of Engineering at the University of Calgary in Canada.

Dejam, who is a faculty member in the Department of Petroleum Engineering at UW, was informed of his award by Bill Rosehart, a professor and dean of the Schulich School of Engineering at the University of Calgary.

Dejam began teaching at UW in May, and his area of research involves theoretical and experimental studies of transport phenomena in porous media. Before joining UW, Dejam conducted research as a postdoctoral scholar and taught as a sessional instructor for one year in the Department of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering at the University of Calgary.
