SBDC Two-Day Workshop to Explore Habits of Highly Effective People

Renowned as the world’s premier personal leadership development and training program, “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People,” which aligns timeless practices with modern technology, will be offered through a two-day workshop in Casper.

The Wyoming Small Business Development Center (SBDC) workshop is scheduled Monday, Sept. 25, and Tuesday, Sept. 26, from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. at the Small Business Administration (SBA) offices in the Federal Building, located at 150 E. “B” St., in Room 1011.

The SBDC is a partnership among the University of Wyoming, the Wyoming Business Council and the U.S. SBA. The SBDC focuses on educating small-business owners and potential owners on how to successfully start and operate small businesses. The SBDC’s main office is located at UW.

Susan Jerke, SBDC regional director, will facilitate the program. She has been trained in the “7 Habits” curriculum and uses these principles in her daily life. Stephen R. Covey’s book, “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People,” first published in 1988, has sold more than 25 million copies worldwide. The audio version became the first nonfiction audiobook in U.S. publishing history to sell more than 1 million copies.

Covey defines effectiveness as balancing obtaining desirable results with caring for that which produces those desirable results.

Cost for the two-day workshop is $199, and attendees can register at www.wyomingsbdc.org.

Reasonable accommodations for persons with disabilities will be made, if requested at least two weeks in advance. Language assistance services for clients with limited English proficiency also will be provided. For more information, call Peggy Baker at (307) 382-0947 or email pbaker@uwyo.edu.

The Wyoming SBDC Network is a business advising group of the Wyoming SBDC, Procurement Technical Assistance Center, Market Research Center and SBIR/STTR Initiative. The network’s mission is to help Wyoming entrepreneurs succeed. Advising and most market research activities are free of charge to Wyoming residents.

The SBDC is funded, in part, through a cooperative agreement with the U.S. SBA. Additional support is provided by the Wyoming Business Council and UW.
