Halloween Events on Tap for UW Students Oct. 27

Several free Halloween-related events for University of Wyoming students are scheduled Friday, Oct. 27.

“Nightmare on Ivinson 2: Pistol Pete’s Revenge,” featuring a variety of activities, begins at 9 p.m. in the Wyoming Union, and the cult classic film “Rocky Horror Picture Show” will be screened at midnight. Halloween costume contests also are scheduled.

The events begin with master illusionist Aiden Sinclair, Denver Ghost Hunters (DGH), escape rooms and cookie decorating.

Sinclair is a professional magician specializing in paranormal illusions. His theatrical performance is featured weekly at the Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, Colo., where the horror classic “The Shining” was filmed. Sinclair has appeared on a variety of national television programs in England, Ireland, South Africa and the United States.

DGH will have three ghost-hunting sessions in Knight Hall starting at 10 p.m. DGH is known for traveling across the U.S., connecting with multiple ghost-hunting groups to investigate haunted locations, including houses, businesses and historic places.

Escape rooms, created by Neon Entertainment, will present four themes during the evening: “Patient Zero Episode 1,” “Patient Zero Episode 2,” “Patient Zero Episode 3” and “School of Wizardry.” For more information about Neon Entertainment’s escape rooms, visit www.neon-entertainment.com/escape-rooms/.

The event will wrap up with costume contests at 11:45 p.m.

“Rocky Horror Picture Show” is rated R and is only for students ages 18 and older. Students must have a valid UW student ID and driver’s license to view the film. Two costume contests will follow the film, including a “Rocky Horror Picture Show” character contest and regular costume contest. Student participants in either contest will be required to show a valid UW student ID at the Cowboy Check-In table.

The 42-year-old classic “Rocky Horror Picture Show” stars Barry Bostwick, Susan Sarandon, Tim Curry and singer Meat Loaf.

UW’s 7220 Late-Night Events Committee, which organized the Halloween events, meets Thursdays at 4 p.m. in the Campus Activities Center (CAC), located in Room 012 of the Wyoming Union.
